PHOENIX (AP) - The National Transportation Safety Board has issued a preliminary report on the Phoenix crash of two news helicopters last week, which killed all four people aboard the choppers. The report says there was no visible sign of trouble before the collision.
The accident happened as five news helicopters and a police chopper were following a police chase through the center of the city.
The NTSB report says witnesses on the ground indicated one of the helicopters involved in the accident was relatively stationary at the time, while the second was maneuvering.
The report draws no conclusions about the cause, but says there were no reports of erratic movements, unusual sounds or smoke before the crash.
