Grizzlies Team Up for Mentoring Fair

The Memphis Grizzlies are busy with a count of their own, but THIS ONE is NOT for the start of Fall Drills..

The Grizzlies host their first Team Up Mentoring Luncheon today at FedExForum.

More than 300 people toured the Grand Lobby, looking for groups they'd like to give of their time.

11-area Mentoring programs, from Memphis Athltetic Ministries, to MIFA, to Big Brothers-Big Sisters, are more than willing to sign up volunteers.

Candace Scarbrough is with Big Brothers-Big Sisters.

"We are not competing against each other. We all try to work together to find what's best for the Kids.. It's all about the Kids."

Volunteer Keisha Slaughter happened to see the Fair advertised on the web.

"I'm an engineer, I go online a lot, and being a Memphian, was interesting in the Grizzlies foundation and saw they're having this event. I love to mentor and volunteer, so I wanted to come and see what they had to offer and how I could be of help and assistance."

This Spring Grizzlies won a National Award as the most charitable of all Major League Professional Sports organizations.
