Collierville man sentenced in child porn case

A Collierville man convicted of child porn was sentenced this week and the victim's family said they're releived. They call it an ultimate end to years of betrayal.

In March 2006, a neighborhood in Collierville was talking about one man.

That one man is Leslie Moore. He's now 56-years-old and he was originally charged with 12 counts of child rape.

Moore is accused of taking advantage of a friend's daughter. She was a young girl not yet a teenager.

In August 2007 on the eleventh floor of the federal courthouse, Moore closed his case by pleading guilty, telling an open courtroom: "I don't want people to hate the person standing here today. I'm not the same person I was 3 to 3-and-a-half years ago. Nobody hates that person more than me."

Moore pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. He is sentence to 21 years in federal prison.

Parent's of the victim said it's time well-deserved.

The victim's dad said, "He stole a very dear part of her childhood. This sentence is nothing compared to what my daughter has been given and has yet to endure."

Moore also pleaded guilty to state charges stemming from the same accusations. He was sentenced to 25 years in state prison.

Those sentences will run concurrently.
