After a year and a half of trying, Penny Hardaway's comeback to the NBA is now complete...
The 36-year-old former Memphis Tiger All-American has signed with the Miami Heat, reuniting him with his old Orlando Magic teammate, Shaquille O'Neal.
A four-time NBA All-Star, Hardaway averaged just over 15 points per game in his career, but hasn't finished a season averaging double digits since 2003 with Phoenix.
Penny should inherit a role similar to the one former Memphis Grizzly Eddie Jones held with the Heat at the end of last season...someone who can play either shooting guard or small forward.
Jones agreed to two-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks last week.
Hardaway last played an NBA game in November 2005 when injuries forced him off the court.
