Daly Takes Unorthadox Approach to Near Top of PGA Leaderboard

When it comes to getting ready for a Major Golf Tournament...

No one does it better than Memphian John Daly..

While other pros Practice and Hydrate themselves against the Heat in Tulsa for the 89th PGA Championship....Daly spent the week pulling slot machines at nearby casinos, loading up on caffeine, and, yes taking a puff or two on a cigarette.

As a matter of fact, he didn't even hit the putting green or the driving range...

Just went straight to the course to "grip it and rip it" in the 95 degree weather.

It worked, Daly with the nice approach on 17 to save par..

He's actually the early leader in the clubhouse over guys like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods..

So, big John...

How'd you do it?

"I just worked the slots all weekend at the local casino...

Didn't really win anything...but they let me play their course from 11-to-1..

  That was enought practice.."

Daly's lead of 3-under par lasts until mid-afternoon...

That's when Australian Graeme Storm catches fire to match the heat of the day.

Storm putting for Birdie and the Outright lead at 16..

He drops it in the cup to go minus 4 on the day...

Storm finishes the round in first with a 5-under 65.

Daly set in second at minus 3...

Tiger Woods not a great start with a Plus 1 71....

Memphian Shaun Micheel comes in at 3-over par 73.
