Man goes to police with evidence of underage sex

PARAGOULD, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a kindergarten teacher quit her job this week after her husband gave sheriff's deputies a videotape of her having sex with a teenager. The tape resulted in a first-degree sexual assault charge.

Twenty-five-year-old Monica Ann Cluck was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Officials say the video showed the teenager drinking alcohol. Sheriff's Capt. Bruce Drope said the woman's husband, Jeffery, approached police in July with suspicions his wife was involved sexually with members of the Singing Hands sign-language choir at her church.

A sheriff's report said the 17-year-old victim acknowledged the relationship.

State law says first-degree sexual assault occurs when an adult in a position of trust or authority over a person younger than 18 engages in sexual activity with the minor.

Monica Cluck declined to comment.

Paragould School District superintendent Aaron Hosman says he accepted Monica Cluck's resignation on Wednesday.

Monica Cluck was freed without bond.
