LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee says he expects to build on his second-place finish over the weekend in Iowa's Republican Party Straw Poll.
Huckabee finished behind former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney on Saturday. Huckabee said this morning on CNN that GOP voters that are dissatisfied with the Republican field have only been looking at the early front-runners.
Huckabee says he should be able to tap new donors with his performance on Saturday. Romney spent millions in Iowa while Huckabee spent only 150-thousand dollars.
Huckabee says his victory was driven by message, not money. Huckabee has campaigned hard in Iowa and worked hard to court religious conservatives.
