The green flag has dropped on Elvis Week and that brings one of the top stars of Nascar to Graceland. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. normally drives at 200 MPH around the super speedways of the Nextel Cup Circuit. Tonight he debuted a new ride on the lawn of the Mansion. A self-proclaimed Elvis fan, Junior is treating fans of the King to a sneak peak of a new #8...unveiling a brand new race car with a 30 year Anniversary tribute to Elvis.
He'll actually RACE this car later in the year at Richmond. Earnhardt says mixing Elvis and Nascar is a no-brainer. And hopefully it will bring some good luck in the points race.
'That's the last race of the year so it would be great to already be in the Chase or have a chance to make it. But anytime we do something special with the car we want to take it to victory lane. Winning in the Elvis car would mean a lot to me.'
Earnhardt who came to Graceland with his grandmother is currently in 14th place in the race for the Nextel Cup Championship.
