Ole Miss Football Media Day Brings No Decision at Quarterback

Rebels fans are looking for big things in year 3 of the Ed Orgeron Era.

With 7 wins total in two seasons, Coach O is anxious to crank up the victories as well.

Week 1 of practice is in the books for the Ole Miss Rebels, and while it seems the QB position had been settled, Coach Ed Orgeron made it very clear that was not the case.

"Our quarterback position is still open. All the guys can play and they're all competing."

Seth Adams seems like the guy for the job, but the senior from Holly Springs likes the competition.

"I want to be the starting quarterback, but I like competing and keeps me from letting my guard down."

While the offense battles for position, it's the defense that has coach O excited. The key components, Jerrell Powe and Chris Strong, neither of which has been cleared to play, but both have shown their prowess in just 3 days of practice with the team.

Powe says:

"I feel real good about some of the things I've done in practice. I feel like I really haven't lost a step."

Adds Strong..

"Coach put me in as a starter as a freshman, that the biggest difference. I feel really blessed."

The Rebels have another scrimmage on Wednesday.

Meet the Rebels day is Saturday.
