Tigers West Says Scrimmage Can Wait

It's been said practice makes perfect...

So far, the Memphis Tigers need a lot more practice to get anywhere close to perfection.

The Tigers hit the practice field on South Campus bright and early this morning for the first day of a two-a-days.

They were originally planning to scrimmage at the Liberty Bowl, but scrapped that plan over the weekend.

Head coach Tommy West says they need too much work.

"Right now we're just not ready to scrimmage yet. There's no sense going to the Liberty Bowl and stinking it up. It gets me mad and we're just not going there until we're ready. The other thing is we can't afford to waste a whole practice scrimmaging. We need too much fundamental work."

West says he may scrimmage his team on Wednesday.
