Defendant who fled before guilty verdict still loose

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - A man who ran away from court in Jonesboro before his guilty verdict was read is still on the loose.

The Craighead County Sheriff's Department is looking for 31-year-old Kitaka K. Lauderdale, who fled the county courthouse on Wednesday. A jury convicted Lauderdale on drug counts but the judge withheld pronouncing sentence until Lauderdale is found.

Lauderdale was free on bond during his trial, though authorities say Lauderdale should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities ask that anyone who knows where Kitaka Lauderdale is contact Jonesboro police at 870-935-5562 or Craighead County deputies at 870-933-4550.
