2 teens charged in murder of Humboldt senior

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. (AP) - Police have charged two teenagers in the murder of a 71-year-old man during a robbery over the weekend.

Keith Lamar Rose, 17, and Brandon Cartwright, 18, have been charged with first-degree murder, especially aggravated assault and theft of the victim's truck.

The body of Reggie Hicks was found in his home by his family early Monday morning. Police have not said how he died but they are investigating it as a homicide.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the two men were both out on bond on unrelated charges when they robbed Hicks on Friday. They are being held in the Gibson County Jail.
