Tigers Passing Game Can Be Explosive

Offensively, U of M Coach Tommy West is not so worried about his club as you might think.

Sure, Memphis had 5-Turnovers, including 2 in the Red Zone..but outgained Ole Miss by almost 200 yards, and ran a whopping 96 plays...a new school record..

343 of the U of M's 467-yards came through the air, which is what is to be expected of this team this year, with a total of 10 players catching passes from quarterback Martin Hankins.

Tigers Coach Tommy West is pleased with his Offensive weapons at wideout.

"Our wideouts played well at that position... Caught 19 balls.. Duke, and Carlos great. Stephen Black played O.K. For a first game.. Maurice played extremely well. They all played good enough to win the game.">

Sophomore Receiver Duke Calhoun, a former Raleigh-Egypt High star, says all the stats don't wipe out the loss.

"Tough to look at all the numbers and see you didn't win.. But you have to realize it.. Then you have to move on."

Kickoff for the Tigers and Arkansas State is 6pm Saturday in Jonesboro.
