Hogs Welcome New A.D. to Arkansas

For 50-years, Frank Broyles has been THE MAN at the University of Arkansas.

Whether as Football Coach, or Athletic Director, it was Broyles who ran the Razorbacks show.

Now, there's a NEW A.D. in town, and Broyles is ready to welcome him.

He does it by helping introduce his replacement at the helm of Hogs Mens' Sports, Jeff Long, the former Athletic Director at Pittsburgh.

Long comes to the Razorbacks with many years in Athletic Administration, but no ties to the state of Arkansas..

In meeting the Media, Long paid a brief tribute to Broyles.

"I know the first question you're going to ask is how do you plan to fill Frank Broyles Shoes.. I ask myself that question.. I didn't know till I got here, he's got some pretty big shoes to fill."

Broyles was wistful in his acknowledgement of his long career in Fayetteville.

"Not many people get to live the dream of their lives, that you get to work with the best fans and fan base for 50-years. I want you to know I enjoyed coming to work every day."

Broyles will continue as A.D. through December, ending a career that started in 19-57.

Long takes over with a base salary of $450-thousand Dollars, plus incentives for athletic and academic achievement.
