Student Tasered and arrested at Kerry forum

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A University of Florida student who was Tasered and arrested at a forum with U.S. Senator John Kerry is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

University officials say Andrew Meyer got upset during a question and answer session at the forum. While as many as four police officers tried to remove Meyer from the room, he started to shout and was eventually Tasered.

According to Alachua County jail records, Meyer faces charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace.

Videos of the incident posted on several Web sites show officers pulling Meyer away from the microphone after he asks Kerry about impeaching President Bush and whether he and Bush were both members of the secret Skull and Bones society at Yale University.

A university spokesman says the university police will conduct an internal investigation on the incident.
