Grizzlies Party on the Block in Germantown

Even though Football is just getting underway, it's Party Time for the Memphis Grizzlies, and they're inviting You to join them.

The Mid-South's NBA team hosts the first of several Community Block Parties tonight at the Municipal Park in Germantown.

The franchise, under new General Manager Chris Wallace, is trying to reconnect with its' fans...

That means taking its' show, including Dance Team, Grizz and, of course, players like Rookie All-Star Rudy Gay and newcomer Casey Jacobsen, on the road.

GM Chris Wallace says:

"This is something we want to do to meet the fans.. We are planning more of them around the area."

Adds Forward Rudy Gay:

"The fans would really like to see us.. They cheered so hard for us last year so we need to see them, too."

Free Agent Forward pickup Casey Jacobsen sums it up"

"It's great coming to see the fans and it gets us players really excited for the season."

The Grizzlies have two more Block Parties Planned..

Thursday Night at Bert Ferguson Community Center in Cordova, and Friday night at Cox Park in Collierville.

The Grizzlies promise more to come.
