UPDATE: Stabbing suspect taken into custody

Memphis Police have captured a man wanted for stabbing his parents.

Investigators said Adam Sutton, 25, stabbed his parents around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday in their home located in the 8400 block of Walnut Grove.  Sutton fled the residence after the stabbing.

Sutton's parents were taken to The MED in non-critical condition, and are expected to fully recover from their injuries.

After searching for Sutton for several hours, Memphis issued a City Watch Alert, saying he could be a danger to himself and others.

Sutton was found late Wednesday night walking on Walnut Bend, south of Trinity.  He was taken into custody without incident.

Sutton's cousin, Greg Baker, said he is bi-polar, a problem that started when he was a teen.  Sutton was previously on medication to treat his illness, but had stopped taking it.  Still, Baker said, the violent attack surprised relatives.

"Totally bizarre, and out of the ordinary...very unusual," he said.
