Tigers Say Time to Make Own Breaks after Beating Marshall at Liberty Bowl

Grief relieved..

Sorrow resolved..

Too early to tell.

At least the Memphis Tigers Football team found a way to get past it all for a few hours by beating Marshall Tuesday night at the Liberty Bowl 24-to-21.

Playing just 2-days after the on campus Murder of Teammate Taylor Bradford, the Tigers showed a closeness with each other and the community that supports them on an emotional evening filled with tribute for a fallen troops, to high drama against a Conference Opponent.

The U of M needed two late Touchdowns to rally past the Thundering Herd...but it

wasn't until Marshall's desparate 4th down pass fell incomplete in the final minute, could the Tigers sense some relief from what had been a traumatic 48-hours.

Head Coach Tommy West says nothing is easy.

"People think cause we had a tragedy bad play on the field, then the death of our teammate, something good has got to happen. No it doesn't. You still have to go make something happen."

  Quarterback Will Hudgens adds...

"We needed it for him. We worked hard, did what we could do, and we got it for him."

The Tigers have a week off before their next game against Middle Tennessee State.
