Friends, family remember fallen University of Memphis student

Friends, family, and loved ones from across the state traveled to a Nashville church Saturday to say farewell to Taylor Bradford.

Bradford, a student and football player at the University of Memphis, was shot to death on campus last Sunday night.

Saturday, people packed into the church to say goodbye to Bradford.

His brother Vincent spoke of his deep love for Taylor.

"I want to be like my brother so much," he said.  "Just following in his steps."

Ten others also spoke, from friends and family members, to teammates, and even his coach.

"Takers eat well.  Givers sleep well," said University of Memphis football head coach Tommy West.  "Taylor Bradford sleeps well."

Speakers remembered Bradford as an intelligent, driving young man with a positive attitude.  While they spoke, pictures of Bradford cycled on a projection screen overhead.

"I never had the chance to tell him to his face, but Taylor, I love you," said close friend Daniel Drumwright.

Taylor Bradford is survived by a brother, a sister, and his mother and father.  His family will be in Memphis next week for a memorial service.
