Police nab apologetic robber

Police say they have an infamous Mid-South robber in custody. He apologized for robbing the White Swan Cleaners on Winchester and police say he's a suspect in even more robberies.

Police say tips from the public helped them catch him Friday night.

He's the suspect in a strange string of armed robberies that might leave you scratching your head or rather, just your hair.

Yong Kim sells hair and has for a decade never once encountering anything like what happened Wednesday morning when a man walked into her beauty supply store.

"He say, I need the hair. I say what kind of hair. He say fuse. I say, and I feel something really funny. I say we don't have that kind of hair and he pulled the gun out," says Kim.

He robbed the place and cut out with the cash from the register. It turns out Supreme Beauty Supply wasn't his first stop of the day.

Investigators say he'd just left the White Swan Cleaners, where he pulled a gun, and apologized. Now, he's behind bars.

Memphis Police say they caught that apologetic robber. His name is John Turner. Police say they're also investigating whether Turner was involved in a third Wednesday morning robbery at the Circle K in Bartlett.

Kim adds, "I'm really glad they catch them. I'm tired of this."

Yong Kim says the robber didn't apologize to her, but concedes it wouldn't matter if he did because she's wigged out by the entire experience.

She says she's had nightmares and she's terrified.

Kim says the robber didn't steal any actual hair. Police say Turner has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
