A Bartlett woman has been charged in connection to her husband's death.

Investigators with the Bartlett Police Department said Dorothy "Bobbi" Lovell was charged with voluntary manslaughter Saturday morning.

According to investigators, Lovell admitted to fatally shooting her husband, Alan, during a domestic dispute Friday.

Police said the couple's son would not be charged.

A Bartlett man was found shot to death and his family is being questioned. It happened in the 6900 block of Scepter, a hundred yards from Ellendale Elementary. But the school was never in danger.

Police say this stemmed from a domestic situation. Now, a mother and son are being questioned after the man of the house was shot and killed.

"Allen's dead, yea, he's been shot," says one neighbor.

A frantic neighbor informs another that a man identified by police as Allen Lovell was shot dead in the house next door.

"He's dead, he's dead and I thought he'd done it himself, but apparently not," says Shirley Oliver.

Around noon Friday, Bartlett Police say they got a call from someone inside the home who claimed they were being held against their will.

Lt. Rory Mack with Bartlett says, "The officers were dispatched and while they were on their way were advised by a second call that the victim had been shot."

Bartlett Police say Lovell, his wife Bobbi, and adult son Cody have had trouble in the past.  "There has been a history of domestics at this house. We have responded here before," says Lovell.

Police say the father was the aggressor in those cases. But in this case his wife or son may be responsible for his death.
