Are the Arena Football-2 Memphis Xplorers making a comeback?
After a one year hiatus, there's a move underway to get the team back in action.
But this time around it'll have a twist IF a the deal can be done.
The River City investment group is a group of ministers lead by Pastor Rickey Jemison.
He wants to buy the Xplorers from the Maddox Foundation, which also owns the Mississippi RiverKings, and package the football around a Christian atmosphere.
"We get that concept from SBEC. They are a Christian based school that combines sports with the gospel every Friday night and it's so exciting to be part of. If we can get approved by the league we can use this platform to make a difference with a Christian base to it."
Pastor Rickey says his group is heading to the AF2 league office in Chicago to discuss the potential sale.
If all works out, he says they'll be ready to re-open the franchise in 2009.
