Officers serve warrant, find meth lab

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say officers went to arrest a man in George County for violating probation and found a massive working methamphetamine lab in the suspect's home.

Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agent Stacy Eubanks said federal agents found "one of the largest meth labs we have seen in a while" in the rural home of Michael Andre Amacher.

Eubanks said the lab was so large a hazardous materials team was called in to clean up. Amacher was detained on the probation violation charges and taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.

It was not immediately clear if he had hired an attorney. Eubanks said Amacher is awaiting extradition to Mobile County in Alabama.

Now he also faces charges including possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and possession of precursor chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, according to a www.sunherald.com article.
