Millington High School student arrested for disorderly conduct

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department responded to Millington High School Friday afternoon after a student reportedly took a gun onto a school bus.

Sheriff's deputies and school officials said it was unlikely the student had a gun, but said he did make a motion as if he did.

Investigators said the incident started as a verbal altercation between two students.  When one student acted as if he was going to pull a gun, everyone on the bus reacted, and the student ran away.

School officials and Sheriff's deputies searched all of the school's buses and the surrounding area, eventually locating the student.  He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

A Shelby County Schools spokesperson said the student will now face a long-term suspension.
