John Caliapri and the Memphis Tigers got a real scare this weekend. Top recruit Derek Rose and senior Joey Dorsey were both injured during a closed scrimmage against St. Louis, Saturday. Rose, arguably the best point guard in the country coming out of high school, left just a few minutes into the game with a sprained knee. Dorsey, the muscle in the middle for the Tigers, banged up his shoulder pretty good. Fortunately x-rays were negative for both guys and they're not expected to miss any time. They're day-to-day and will try to practice Monday.
The Tigers, ranked #1 in the nation in several pre-season polls, will open the season November 5th vs. UT Martin.
