Woman scours streets for missing dog

Mo has been missing since Saturday. Mo has been missing since Saturday.

For the past several days, Molly Mendikow has been putting up posters, walking the streets, and telling anyone who will listen about her missing dog, Mo.

"It's about 45 pounds," she said. "He's a mixed breed. He's a little bit of a Jack Russell Terrier."

Mendikow said she dropped Mo off at a veterinarian's office last Saturday, and has not seen him since.

"We couldn't believe it," she said. "We definitely think there needs to be stronger regulations about veterinarian's offices."

MendiKow said several years ago she traded a management job in her family's jewelry business to run an animal shelter in an impoverished city in Peru.  That was where she rescued Mo.

Earlier this month, she brought Mo along on her latest visit back to her parents home in Memphis.

"He's very shy, so if you call out to him, he might run the other way," she said.

Mendikow said Mo is not very street smart, and she is desperate to find him before something bad happens.

"I just walk the streets, and everyone I see I offer a reward," she said.
