"Southern Girl" Vanna White looks back at 'Wheel' success

The Guinness Book of World Records lists her as the most frequent clapper in the world, and you might think that is all she does when she is not revealing letters on Wheel of Fortune.  So who is the real Vanna White?

White says her family is the most important thing in her life.

"I was raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, so you took the Southern girl out of the South, but you can't take the Southern out of me."

White has a wardrobe many woman envy.  Vanna's dressing room is filled with racks of shoes and dresses.  In fact, through 25 years and thousands of episodes, White has never worn the same dress twice.

"The designers send the dresses to the studios," she said. "I wear them, and sometimes the dresses are auctioned off for charities."
  
Charity is important to Vanna, who donates half the proceeds from her yarn sales to St. Jude.

"I went to Memphis not long ago, and toured the whole thing, and was so impressed with what they do for families," she said. "Not just the kids that are sick.  What the parents go through. They do so much."
  
According to White, the formula for "Wheel of Fortune's" success is simple.

"In today's TV world, there's so much negative stuff that people enjoy 30 minutes at least of family fun," she said.
