Lady Tigers Head To North Carolina for NCAA Soccer Regional/Earn National Ranking

The Memphis Lady Tigers Soccer Team can now add NCAA Tournament Contestant by its' name as Conference USA Champions...

The Lady Tigers, introduced to a cheering crowd at Halftime downtown of last night Monday Nights' U of M-CBU Basketball game will play UNC Greensboro in their first ever trip to the Big Soccer Dance at Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Friday..

Memphis is the 2- Seed in the regional

The Lady Tigers earned an Automatic Bid by beating UTEP Sunday in the C-USA Tournament Finals 2-Nil.

Goalkeeper Isabelle Briones, who 3-opponents scoreless in the Tourney says Confidence is High.

"We realized that we are that good and we're winners. No one can take away what we've done."

  U of M Head Coach Brooks Monaghan, the Conference USA Coach of the Year, watched his team grow up this season.

"I think it's the character of this group that keeps us going. I've said all along it's character that makes us winners for sure."

Monaghan, a former Memphis High School star, coached the Lady Tigers to a 7th place finish 4-years ago.. Then 5th, then 3rd last year, and now League Champions.

Soccer Buzz Magazine ranks the Lady Tigers 25th in the Nation..

It's a first for the U of M Program.

The U of M, is 17-3-and-1 on the season. Top Seed North Carolina takes on High Point in the other First round game.
