DALLAS (AP) - Josh Howard scored six of his 27 points during a key fourth-quarter stretch to lift Dallas past Memphis 108-105. The game was tied at 89 until Howard provided six points in a 12-2 run that put the Mavericks ahead 101-91 with 3:31 left.
The Grizzlies answered back with 10 straight points, but Dirk Nowitzki scored the Mavs' next four points to put them ahead 105-103. Nowitzki also sank two free throws with eight seconds remaining before Juan Carlos Navarro missed a pair of open three-pointers in the final three and a-half seconds.
Nowitzki had 21 points and Devin Harris added 19 as Dallas improved to 5-and-0 at home. Mike Miller finished with 23 points in the Grizzlies ' third straight loss.
