Field goals, a running game, and some good tackling. Three things that haven't always been there this season for the Memphis Tigers. But they put it all together Saturday afternoon against UAB to become bowl eligible with a 25-9 win.
Memphis hadn't beat UAB since 1999 but did so with some tremendous individual performances. Matt Reagan had a career high 4 field goals in the game, including a 21 yarder before the half to give the Tigers a 13-3 lead. Joe Doss had 168 yards rushing and a 20 yard TD in the 3rd quarter to ice the game. Martin Hankins had another solid quarterbacking effort. After last weeks' 400+ yards against Southern Miss he had 298 yards left for UAB.
The Tigers are now bowl eligible at 6-5. They can finish a tumultuous season at 7-5 with a win next week at SMU.
