UPDATE: Pam Hobbs appears in court on domestic battery charges

Pam Hobbs, the mother of one of the boys killed in the West Memphis 3 murders, appeared in court Monday after she was arrested on domestic battery charges Saturday night.

Hobbs, who spent Sunday in jail, was quick to say it was no fun being locked up.

"Especially having my family put me there," she said. "That's even worse."

Hobbs was arrested after a weekend altercation at her mothers house.  The fight, which involved Hobbs, her daughter, Hobb's elderly mother, and her sister- Sheila Muse- ended with Hobbs and Muse facing domestic battery charges.

Muse claimed Hobbs started the fight, something Hobbs vehemently denied.

"I was attacked by my mother," Hobbs said. "My mother attacked my daughter in the beginning, and then my sister came out and attacked me."

Muse accused Hobbs of being on drugs when she attacked her.  Hobbs called that a lie, but refused to comment further.

Both Hobbs and Muse pled not guilty to the fight in court Monday morning.  However, Hobbs went to jail because she owed more than $1,100 to West Memphis in connection with a traffic violation.

After her court appearance Monday, Hobbs was taken to the Mississippi County Jail where relatives paid her bond.
