Female assailants assault restaurant manager during robbery

The Memphis Safe Streets Task Force is investigating an assault against the manager of a local pancake restaurant.

Investigators said two female suspects, posing as customers, ate breakfast at the International House of Pancakes in the 4000 block of Showcase Monday morning.  After eating breakfast, the women asked to see a manager.

The women were escorted to the manager's office.  When the manager walked in to the office, the women physically assaulted her, sprayed her with mace, and made her give them the combination to the restaurant's safe.

After taking money from the safe, the women ran out of the restaurant.

The restaurant manager did not suffer any serious injuries.

Witnesses described the suspects as black women, both 20 to 25 years old.  One had a light complexion, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and was wearing a pink jacket, black jeans, and white gym shoes.  The other suspect had a medium complexion, weighing approximately 180 pounds, and was wearing red sweat pants and white gym shoes.  The second suspect had a tattoo in the center of her back.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
