Two UT students charged with making drugs in dorm

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Two University of Tennessee students have been charged with manufacturing drugs in their dorm room.

John Chalmers Thompson and Erik Benson Kenney, both 19 years old, are accused of making a narcotic hallucinogen called DMT, or dimethyltryptamine. The charge is a felony.

Both juniors were arrested last week in Vonore and charged with possession of marijuana. Local police tipped off UT officers to search their room.

The dorm room has been quarantined until it is santized. University officials say other rooms were not affected.
