You knew how bad they wanted it. And now the numbers don't lie. Mississippi State has sold out it's allotment of tickets for the upcoming Liberty Bowl. Over 30,000 tickets went like a wild fire for the December 29th game. State hasn't been to a bowl game since 2000, so they have plenty to be fired up about. Not only is it their first winning season since, but they also had some big wins over highly ranked Auburn, Kentucky and Alabama at the time.
Steve Ehrhart at the Liberty Bowl tells me it's the largest ticket order from a single Univerisity ever! The bowl is now back logged with orders and approaching a sellout for the first time since Bear Bryant's last game in 1982. Ehrhart is expecting the largest crowd ever for a Liberty Bowl game when Bulldogs will square off with Central Florida December 29th at 3:30.
