Memphis teen shot while playing with a gun

A Memphis teen was shot Monday afternoon while he and a friend were playing with a gun.

Investigators said the boys were playing with a handgun, when it appears to have accidentally gone off, hitting one of them.

The boy's injuries were not critical.

Trevekia Taylor, who lives down the street from where the shooting happened, said it made her nervous, because the bullet could have easily hit one of her three children.

"Parents shouldn't have guns around kids," she said. "Anything could happen.  One could get killed, the other could do something else crazy...I won't let my kids play with guns."

The victim was taken to The MED in non-critical condition.

Police are still trying to determine where the gun came from, and why the boys were not in school.
