Grizzlies Snap Losing Streak

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Rudy Gay scored a career-high 32 points and Juan Carlos Navarro added 25 to help the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Orlando Magic 123-119 Saturday night, snapping a six-game losing streak. Mike Miller scored 19 points for Memphis, which shot 53 percent from the field, most of it from perimeter. The Grizzlies hit 12 3-pointers, including two clutch ones from Navarro in the final 3 minutes. Dwight Howard had 31 points and 20 rebounds - his league-leading 21st double-double of the season - for Orlando, which lost at home for the third straight time. Hedo Turkoglu added 24 points and Jameer Nelson 18 for the Magic, who couldn't protect a nine-point second half lead. Gay scored 23 points in the second half, but it was five 3s by Memphis in the fourth quarter that decided the game.

Navarro's 3 with 2:58 to play completed an 11-4 run that gave Memphis a 110-104 lead. The Magic pulled to 112-109 when Turkoglu hit two free throws, but his 3-point attempt to tie the game with a minute to play missed badly. Navarro then nailed another trey with 45.6 seconds to play, pushing Memphis' lead to 115-109. The first half was a shootout with the Magic hitting 51.2 percent and Memphis making 50 percent of its shots. Most of the scoring came from the perimeter with Turkoglu leading the way for Orlando with 14 points, including a pair of 3s. Miller also had 14 points, including two 3s, in the half for Memphis. Howard was the only real presence in the paint. He scored 12 first-half points, including three dunks. His power inside helped Orlando rally from a 45-38 deficit to take a 59-55 advantage by halftime.

The Magic scored the first five points of the second half to push the lead to 64-55, but couldn't pull away. The Grizzlies scored eight straight, capped by a 3-pointer from Damon Stoudemire to keep within striking distance of the Magic.
