Local school bus driver busted for selling drugs

Police busted a Mid-South school bus driver Monday for selling drugs to an undercover officer.

Melinda Haas was charged with selling liquid morphine and Xanax pills to West Memphis police.

West Memphis police got a tip from a confidential informant about Haas. Police then got the informant to contact Haas and ask for drugs. It all went down Friday.

Melinda Haas drove a bus for DeSoto County schools and was also a teaching assistant.  Janice Broach went to her house in Southaven on Monday. Her husband said she had no comment.

Melinda Haas is free on a $50 thousand dollar bond.

She is charged with two counts of sale or delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
