Two men in custody following crime spree

Investigators say John Albea is one of two men who went on a crime spree from Germantown to Memphis.

Germantown police say the fourth in a string of armed robberies was at the Baptist Rehab facility on Exeter just before 7 Tuesday night. The victim, a woman with 4 children.

"As she was putting one of her 4 children into her vehicle a subject came up approached her brandishing a firearm and demanded her purse," Captain Alan Keller of the Germantown Police Department said.

After the rehab robbery investigators believe the same two suspects moved into Memphis police territory.

The next stop was Country Mill Cove in Cordova where police say two armed men approached a man in his driveway and robbed him of one dollar.

From there police say the suspects went to this strip mall and robbed Freewheelin' Franks. They then headed up the road where they hit Howard's donuts.

Police caught up with Albea nearby on Interstate 40.

"The passenger fled on foot.  Shelby County canine and MPD searched the area and the second suspect was located on penal farm property," Inspector Mark McClain of the Memphis Police Department said.

Two suspected robbers are off the streets.  And, while this wasn't necessarily a holiday heist, police say extra caution is in order during this busy shopping season.
