GFS brand green beans recalled

UNDATED (AP) - New Era Canning Company is recalling 1,026 cans of GFS Fancy Blue Lake Cut green beans because they may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, which causes botulism, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning.

No illnesses have been reported, according to the New Era, Michigan, company.

The canned green beans were distributed to businesses in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia and sold through GFS Marketplace stores in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

The green beans are packaged in cans under the GFS brand with the lot code 19H7FL.
