It's a neighborhood robbery that is generating lots of talk in Cooper-Young.
After a recent robbery, a Midtown resident fired off an e-mail, warning her neighbors to be careful. In the email, the victim claims she turned onto her dead end street and noticed a strange car follow. Uncomfortable, she waited until the other car drove away before pulling into her garage.
The suspicious car returned. A man then walked into her garage, pointed a gun in her face, and robbed her.
Monday, the woman told Action News 5 she did not want to be seen on camera talking about crime in her neighborhood, because the incident was too jarring and her fear of retaliation is too high.
However, her story is not unique.
According to the e-mail, police told the woman was the sixth person robbed Wednesday night, and that the robbers struck again over the weekend.
By e-mail, Memphis Police said they were aware of the situation.
"The victim has imparted all of the information that we are able to release on this case," an investigator said.
Officers from both the Union and Tillman Stations are on the lookout while robbery investigators are working the case.
Police have a partial description on a getaway car and a suspect. Meanwhile there's an e-mail warning circulating throughout the neighborhood.
The e-mailer was not hurt. In her message, she asks others to trust their intuition and to be alert of their surroundings.
