"Tiger" recuperates as officials wait for owner to come forward

The Shepard and Chow mix that ran past Memphis Zoo security and into a tiger exhibit Tuesday has been receiving a lot of attention over the past few days.

People have called from all over the world to adopt Tiger. Her owner still has not.

With a $350 heart worm treatment in order, Animal Emergency is now turning her over to Sunny Meadows Animal Rescue in an effort to save Tiger's life again. Sunny Meadows also has a very successful adoption operation.

"Truly she is a lucky dog.  Not only the fact that she survived a tiger attack, but she's lucky in that this has propelled her into the headlines which maker her more adoptable.  People want to adopt her.  But there are so many stray animals at everybody's local shelter," Clarita Atkinson of the Animal Emergency Center said.

They don't know how far the heart worms has advanced.

It takes six to seven months to show up in a test.

Tiger is still on antibiotics and pain medication, but she sat up today.
