High School Musical comes to the Orpheum's stage

The stage production of High School Musical brings Disney's wildly popular movie to life.

The setting is East High School where the jocks and the nerds battle the common cliches of high school.

Cast members Leonard Sullivan, Marjorie Failoni and Renee Marino have been performing for sell out crowds for the past 7 months.

"I think the attraction the kids have is all of the leads look like them," Sullivan said.

No matter where they go, fans are drawn to the show's universal appeal.

"Its all about realizing who you are and not being afraid to take that step. Not being afraid to try something new," Marino said.

With that in mind Action News 5's Anna Marie Hartman agreed to bust a few moves from the show along with students from Germantown's Studio B and co-worker Jenny Smith.

The choreography combines classical dance moves with urban hip hop. The dancers also sing.

"Singing non stop throughout the show and its us. There is no one off stage singing for us," dance captain Marjorie Failoni said.
