Former West Tennessee pastor charged with sexual crime

The friendly town of Middleton is still in shock over the accusations that one of the town's ministers was participating in sexually explicit practices.

An exchange student told police that Minister Brian Riley would come into her bedroom and touch her in intimate places when his wife and daughter went to dance class twice a week.

At one point, she said he used her hands to rub baby oil all over her body.

She said he wanted to teach her slang, talked about sex and when she said "no" the last time, he told her it was still okay to rub baby oil on her.

"We arrested the minister, petitioned for a search warrant for both the church and the house," investigator Trent Wilbanks said.

The evidence included a laptop computer from his home, as well as laptop and desktop computers from his church.

The first charge didn't hold up without solid evidence. But, after the Nashville TBI checked his computers, they took Minister Riley back to jail.

"We got the report back that there was in excess of 800 sexually explicit images on the total of the three machines together, most of them depicting minors as participants,"

Minister Riley's parish and home are on the same street.  Right in the middle is an elementary school.

Minister Riley is in the Hardeman County Jail on a $500,000 dollar bond, charged with sexual battery by an authority and sexual exploitation of a minor.
