Ambulance provider for Mississippi closes it's doors at midnight

A major Mississippi Ambulance provider is closing it's doors at midnight.

Emergystat Ambulance Service provides care for counties including Tunica, Coahoma, Marshall, Panola, Sunflower, and Tallahatchie.

Lack of liability insurance and financial stress forced this shutdown.

All 23 counties affected by the closure will be covered by an alternative emergency service.

Officials stress that you should continue to call 911 if you need emergency assistance.
