Top Ranked Tigers Ready for Showdown with Gonzaga

The Memphis Tigers step out of Conference Play Saturday for one of the last Big Games on their schedule..

A date with the Gonzaga Bulldogs at FedExForum.

The Zags and Tigers have had some memorable games over the last 2-seasons...

In 2005, The U of M's Shawn Williams squared off against Gonzaga's Adam Morrison in front of an electrified sellout crowd at FedExForum..

A close game turned into a Tigers Romp in an 83-72 victory.

Then last year at Spokane, Washington the teams played before another raucous crowd..

And the action on the court was even more riveting...going down to the wire with Memphis' Chris Douglas-Roberts hitting a driving shot for the game winner 78-to-77.

The Top Ranked Tigers are fully aware of what the Zags are capable of doing.

  Chris Douglas-Roberts says:

"Guys know, as a team,  they're capable of taking down top ranked teams.. I don't think they're thinking about that last shot last year. They just want to beat us."

Coach John Calipari adds:

"This team is probably better than the team that had Adam Morrison and Batista and that group. This team has a lot of good players and probably is better."

Tipoff for the Tigers and Gonzaga is Saturday morning, 11am at FedExForum.
