Hundreds attend visitation for Lt. Ed Vidulich

Police motorcycles parked outside Immaculate Conception church Tuesday night as hundreds of people came for the visitation for Lt. Ed Vidulich, a beloved 28 year veteran of the Memphis police department who was murdered Sunday night.

"We're working round the clock to try to develop any suspect information," police spokesperson Monique Martin said.

Police released new pictures of Vidulich's burned out car, discovered around 12:30 Sunday night in a driveway not far from his Frayser home.  When investigators realized it was his car, they checked his house and discovered he had been shot twice in the head.

Earlier in the evening Sunday, Lt. Vidulich was at the Roadhouse bar.

Police know Lt. Vidulich left the Roadhouse bar between 9 and 9:30 pm. Now police want to know if anyone saw him driving in the area of Steel and Frayser Boulevard near his home.

Police also released the picture of a 1994 Explorer similar to Vidulich's car.

Action News 5 captured exclusive video Monday night at a market near the bar. Quite a few officers were at the scene and three different females were in three different law enforcement cars.

"That may not be connected but we are talking to witnesses. As we get information, we are following up on it," Martin said

Investigators said there was no sign of forced entry at Lt. Vidulich's house and it did not appear anything was taken. Vidulich did not struggle with his attacker.

Sources said it looked like Vidulich may have known his assailant.
