The relationship between Stromile Swift and the Grizzlies has been a long winding road.
From being their top draft pick in 2000, to being traded in 2005...only to rejoin the team a year later.
Now Swift opens a new chapter with a Suspension.
Stro had an argument with Head Coach Mark Iavaroni on the bench after he was taken out of Monday nights' game against Dallas in the 3rd quarter.
He played only one minute-:45 seconds before being yanked, and let Iavaroni know he didn't like it.
Iavaroni in turn, LET Swift KNOW, he wasn't going to tolerate that behavior and suspended Stro from today's practice and the Grizzlies next game...Wednesday night here against the Nuggets.
In another Personnel move, the Grizzlies opt NOT to resign Forward Bobby Jones.
Jones was at the end of his second 10-day contract with Memphis, meaning the club had to either release him, or sign him for the rest of the season.
He played in 9-games, with career highs of 20-points, 13-rebounds and 7 assists earlier this month against Seattle.
The Grizzlies roster now stands at 12-players, one below the minimum.
No word on whether the team will sign another 10-Day player, a free agent, or even make a trade.
The NBA Trade Deadline is February 21st.
