Neighborhood happy Petties is behind bars

His face has been splashed on America's most wanted and Federal agents have been trying to find Craig Petties for years.

They say he and his drug organization brought tons of marijuana and cocaine to Memphis and elsewhere.

"The Petties drug trafficking organization as the indictment alleges operated in five states," US Attorney David Kustoff said.

Earlier this month they captured him in Mexico. This 69 page indictment charges 56 counts, tying Petties and his drug business with racketeering, murder for hire plots, and carrying out six killings. Even when Petties was hiding out in Mexico

"He was continuing to supply memphis with larger quantities of cocaine and marijuana the organization was maintaining its place in the hierarchy with violence intimidation and murder," DEA agent Andy Diamond said.
People still remember the murders Petties is accused of. On Kansas Street they remember it like it was yesterday.
Three murders on Kansas Street have been tied to Petties. Edmund Davis remembers them vividly.

"It is a good thing that they caught the man and all but it's messed up how people got murdered it was supposed to be done period at all," Davis said.
All six defendants in the indictment have been arrested and are in custody.
