Family and friends remember victim of storm

Gregory Martin Gregory Martin

A tornado killed two men and a woman when it hit the DSC Logistics warehouse in Hickory Hill early Tuesday evening.

Fierce winds caused the building's roof to collapse, killing Gregory Martin.

Thursday, Charles Miller fought back tears as he talked about the impact his big brother Gregory had on him, Martin's wife Regina, and others in the family.

"He was the one that we could turn to and talk to when we had any kind of problems or whatever," he said.

Miller said after the tornado hit Tuesday night, he drove over to the DCS building hoping for any news about his brother.

"I was one of the first people on the scene to see if everything was all right with him," Miller said.

Shortly after that, Miller would learn that his brother was among the three workers who died.

While making funeral arrangements Thursday, family members reminisced about teasing Martin. Family members often jokes about his huge 6-foot-4 frame, his shy demeanor, and his love for fishing.

Miller said he and his brother had planned a fishing trip for the Spring, but Tuesday's deadly tornado has changed all that.
