Children discover body of missing teen

A Memphis teen reported missing more than a week ago was found dead Saturday, leaving his family searching for answers about what happened.

Family and friends of Donald Miller, 17, said a couple of children playing in the 4100 block of Warbonnet, near Chickasaw Park, found Miller's body Saturday.

Members of Miller's family said the teen went missing sometime after February 1, when he went to a friend's house and never returned.  Family spokesperson Jacqueline Young, Miller's aunt, said when police found his body, he had a gunshot wound, and appeared to have been dead for several days.

"If there's someone who knows something, please come forward, because there's no closure if you don't know what happened to your child," Young said. "Someone left him in a field all alone.  Someone knows something.

Memphis Police have not yet officially confirmed that was found belonged to Miller, saying they were waiting for positive identification from the Shelby County Medical Examiner.  However, Young said, his father identified him after he was found.

A Memphis Police spokesperson said homicide detectives are investigating and trying to determine a motive.

Miller, a senior at Fairley High School, would have graduated this spring.
